AI Lessons

An AI tutor built from your child's own materials.

TutorBook doesn't use generic textbooks. It reads the exact worksheets, handouts, and pages your child brings home — then explains them at the right level, in a spoken lesson your child can follow along with.

How AI lessons work

When you upload a class material — a worksheet, a textbook page, a photo of notes — TutorBook reads it and builds a complete audio lesson around that specific content. The AI identifies the key concepts, explains them in clear language appropriate for your child's grade, and walks through examples.

The lesson is spoken aloud, so your child can listen and follow along without staring at another screen. After the lesson ends, your child can ask the AI follow-up questions in real time.

Why audio? Research consistently shows that hearing an explanation — rather than just reading it — improves retention and comprehension, especially for K-8 learners. TutorBook delivers every lesson as an AI-narrated audio experience.

Live lesson chat

During any lesson, students can type questions directly to the AI tutor. The AI answers in context — its responses stay grounded in the uploaded material, so there are no off-topic detours.

  • Ask why a concept works, not just what it is
  • Request a simpler explanation if the first one didn't click
  • Get a worked example on a specific problem
  • Ask how one concept connects to something already learned

Visual Mode for diagrams and handwritten notes

Some materials — science diagrams, geometry figures, annotated charts, handwritten class notes — are best understood visually. TutorBook's Visual Mode uses image-based AI reasoning to analyze the layout and visual context of your uploaded materials, then builds the lesson around what it sees as well as what it reads.

Grade-level tuning

TutorBook calibrates its explanations to your child's grade. A 4th-grader studying fractions gets a different lesson than an 8th-grader studying the same concept — different vocabulary, different examples, different pacing. The AI adapts based on the material and the student profile, so lessons are always appropriately challenging without being overwhelming.
